Supanova 2009! Fri Sat and Sun!

Hey everyone,

So this weekend me and my best friend tim decided to go to supanova in cosplay!
Tim went as Dr Horrible and I went as Reno from FF7 and O M G what a freaking awesome weekend!!! i had the most fun ive had in years, i cannot wait until waicon comes and G03 expo! anyway about supanova.

Friday:
We arrived to a mediocre sized gathering of otaku from around perth and various other locations at about 6pm and directed to take a seat in the mad man anime theater which i might add was quite sizable for the occasion. We watched a really boring anime called Cherry Blossom which sucked even more because the madman guys didn’t have subtitles for it! so it was in japanese!! and i could only barely get any of the conversation so! bored to death me and my friend decided to start dubbing the anime about various things that shall remain censored for anyone who is reading this lol, then we watched wonder woman and left to go home!.

Saturday:
Arriving at about 9:30AM (O M G I WAS UP THAT EARLY!!!!) the venue was HUGELY crowded 100’s of people in every direction! it was brilliant cosplayers galore! unfortunately i didn’t bring my camera on sat so i couldn’t take any photos! we took our place in line and immediately were greeted by various other cosplayers asking to take photos of us and those around! it was a new and fun experience being my first con after our photos had been taken we made friends with the various people around us. A young lady near us was kind enough to lend me an orange highlighter so i could draw the tattoo’s on my face that reno has she was cosplaying as many people by having different rainbow color hair extensions each color representing a different character and various other apparel unfortunately i cant remember her name.
The doors were open and the otakus flooded the venue, what a brilliant feeling of satisfaction and excitement overwhelmed me as i walked into the room flooded with anime, science fiction, movie and various other stalls selling their inventory of awesome items! The first thing i purchased was a Mana potion which i immediately drank however it tasted like crap so i just chugged it and pocketed the bottle.
I then went and took my seat in the Supanova theater to see christopher sabat talk about being a voice actor it was quite hilarious and i enjoyed his ITS OVER 9000 comment :P eventually i made my way back out into the stalls and vendors and got glomped by many people i think i was hugged and glomped by girls (o.o and boys) more on this weekend than in my entire life lol….. i had my photo taken by at least 40 different people posing for them or with them.
After meeting some new friends i went and did some shopping i purchased:
1 x Gundam Modal Kit
1 x Full Metal Panic Fumoffu box set dvd
3 x Anime Badges
9 x Boxes of pocky (gotta keep the otaku food stocked up)
I spent the rest of the day wandering around meeting people and taking photos while viewing all the different stalls.

Sunday:
The morning began again with having our photos taken in the line we showed our wrist bands and got let into the event today i had my camera so i walked around for the first few hours asking the cosplayers if i could take their photos of course all of them being super friendly said yes and let me take their photos some of them even asked if they could take mine :) after a few hours of taking photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rm2kdev) and having mine taken i found some people that i met yesterday and hung out with them :D they were all really nice people i got their email addresses and phone numbers and were all good friends now :P we decided we would enter ourselves in the Madman cosplay competition so we registered with the name Team 68 because Team 69 was taken hahaha and we did the cancan and almost fell over then we jumped off stage and ran off it was brilliantly stupid! in the line to the cosplay competition we met a young lady whose name i cannot remember she was cosplaying as yuna she was really cute :) and so we exchanged email address and i look forward to talking to her again she was really kind :P EVERYONE at the con was super kind i like them all :P
i met two girls earlier that day named Rachel and Alicia i hope i spelt those right i spent a few hours with them and enjoyed hanging with them my new friend lear joined us and we sat for a while and drank coke near the wrestlers then we walked off and went shopping for a while i really enjoyed hanging with them =D then i had to go for my cosplay comp they stayed in the madman comp room to watch us perform.
After the performance i met back up with Rachel and Alicia, then i met up with tim, then i met up with the cute yuna girl, then i met up with the other reno(lear) and inuyasha(alex) we all exchanged phone numbers and email addresses and were off to go home

So to finish up this giant wall of text (wall of text crits for OVER 9000 DAMAGE) i would just like to say that supanova 2009 was the FUNEST event of the entire year so far it was my first time cosplaying and i really enjoyed it :P i dont really care if i looked like an idiot or not haha it was just fun i made lots of new friends met lots of nice people purchased lots of awesome things and had 3 days of solid fun! if your considering going to the 2010 supanova i highly suggest you do! you can say hi to me if you go! =D and take a photo see anyone who is reading at waicon! and g03!

Ice Skating

So its friday night and i just got home from ice skating, wow what a wonderful joyous occasion :D no seriously it really was good :P i caught up with an old highschool friend that i havnt seen in 1? maybe 2 years =P and i also caught up with the local ice skaters from the old place.

My issues with the new skating place is that … its too family now :( friday night 7:30 till 10! at the old skating arena used to be older teenagers to mid 20’s a great place to meet chicks or whatever! but now its full of kiddies and their daddys and mothers! not that i have an issue with that seeing as i enjoy hanging with my ice skating friends :) but i just hope maybe next friday there might be some older people we can hang with :P becuase i allready know everyone there who is like 16+ to 20 lol

EITHER WAY it was still a great day out and i had super stacks of fun! yes super stacks becuase ice skating is like my favorite physical activity to do :P and since i dont get enough of that as it is lol ice skating wins :P

New Skins?

Well today i had some personal business to attend to and i have to do it tomoro too! :( anyway!
the topic of this is new skins! my best friend and i went to kosmic music and sound and i braught a new set of skins for my drums wooohoooo anyhow we got back to my house and set it all up and then went out shopping again which was great but we didn’t find what were looking for!! and my mates car’s headlight died T.T sadness :( annnnd then i got home and my mother is sleeping SO I STILL DIDNT GET TO DRUM! >..>

Anyway today was a good day but i hope we can find tim’s white boots in time for supanova! i’m going as reno from final fantasy 7 :D i got the wig off ebay and all! first time cosplaying haha it will be fun and lame at the same time! FLAME!

Beanies, Canon and Blogging! + FMA?

Hmm, id like to start by stating i hate beanies and they look terrible on me! HOWEVER i am having the issue of
bad hair – beanie = bad hair
bad hair + beanie = slightly better
badhair with no beanie = bad hair
SO im stuck with wearing my beanie today!

Anyway i braught my cannon eos to work today in hope of getting a photo of the sunset on the way home but its dark and wet outside and it kind of sucks, so now im stuck carrying a huge bag home with no real purpose not that i really care its just…. annoying :P

my wordpress blog seems to be getting quite a few hits lately im not sure if they are me? checking it for hits or not but i noticed that alot of the hits are coming from http://members.iinet.net.au/~rm2kdev however i would like to advise anyone who intends on reading this blog that i have a domain name http://www.rm2kdev.net so yeah :D use that :P

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST!~~ 12 is out T.T i want it!!! and i havnt seen it yet NUUUUUUUU

New Website

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my new website!! But o.o where did my old website go?! Well unfortunately the host i was using decided they would suspend my free hosting and told me that i had to pay to have my hosting re-enabled fyi that host was www.expressnet.com.au so don’t use those guys!

Anyway this new website is using wordpress and no! Its not because I’m too cheep to pay for h0sting or to design a new website and host it somewhere else the reason is :D I want to join the internet blogging revolution :P so starting today i will be using this website to upload photos I’ve taken with my new Canon EOS 10D DSLR and software that I write as well as blogging and various other nicknacks.

So please stay in touch and check back while i continue restoring my websites content back to how it was.
